SIAC Softball Weekly Honors: Feb. 11

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Softball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 11, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Elissa Rich (Allen) and Keivana Durand (Edward Waters) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ELISSA RICH, ALLEN UNIVERSITY
Pitcher/Utility | Sophomore | Anderson, S.C.
In Allen's first two games of the season, a doubleheader against Claflin University, Rich went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with two home runs and a double. She drove in three runs and scored five runs against the Panthers, while also stealing a base.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – KEIVANA DURAND, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Pitcher | Senior | Apopka, Fla.
Durand was dominant in the circle last week with 13 strikeouts in Edward Waters' 4-1 victory over Trinity Baptist. The starter allowed zero hits and one run over seven innings while walking three. In EWU's loss to Keiser, Durand went seven innings, surrendering nine runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out eight and walking six.
