SIAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Feb. 18

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 18, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Edward Waters’ Prince Davies III and Jaelen Nelson were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – PRINCE DAVIES III, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Guard | Junior | Atlanta, Ga.
Davies had a tremendous scoring effort in the Tigers’ two games last week. For the week, he averaged 24.5 points per game on 57.6% shooting from the field and 53.3% from 3-point range. Davies finished with 19 points and five rebounds in a home victory over Benedict and followed with a season-high 30 points, five rebounds and three assists in a road loss to Clark Atlanta. He also shot 11-for-13 (84.6%) from the free-throw line.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – JAELEN NELSON, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Guard | Freshman | West Palm Beach, Fla.
Nelson continued his strong play, helping the Tigers go 1-1 last week. He recorded 19 points, three rebounds and five 3-pointers in a win over Benedict before contributing 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting — including three 3-pointers — in a loss to Clark Atlanta. Nelson also shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
