SIAC Men’s Volleyball Weekly Honors: Feb. 18

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Volleyball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 18, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week. Fort Valley State’s Isaiah FeddJaxon Hicks, and Oshane Farquharson were recognized.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ISAIAH FEDD, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Outside Hitter | Junior | Apopka, Fla.
Fedd led the frontline as Fort Valley State swept Emmanuel and Catawba. In six sets, he recorded 26 kills with one error in 39 attacks for a .641 hitting percentage, two assists, four aces, two block assists and seven digs. Against Emmanuel, Fedd tallied 15 kills with no errors in 20 attacks for a .750 hitting percentage, one assist and five digs. Against Catawba, he notched 11 kills and one error in 19 attacks for a .526 hitting percentage, one assist, four aces, two block assists and two digs.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JAXON HICKS, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY

Hicks helped Fort Valley State sweep Emmanuel and Catawba last week. In six sets, he produced 21 kills with five errors on 40 total attempts for a .400 hitting percentage, adding two service aces, one block assist and 10 digs. Against Emmanuel, Hicks registered 11 kills with three errors on 23 swings (.348), plus one service ace and five digs. Against Catawba, Hicks tallied 10 kills with two errors on 17 attempts (.471), one service ace, one block assist and five digs.

SETTER OF THE WEEK – OSHANE FARQUHARSON, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Setter/Outside Hitter | Senior | Hollywood, Fla.
Oshane directed the FVSU offense to a pair of sweeps over Emmanuel and Catawba last week. In six sets, he totaled four kills, 44 assists (7.33 a/s), five aces, two total blocks and five digs. Against Emmanuel, Oshane notched one kill, 24 assists, four aces and two digs. He followed with three kills, 20 assists, an ace, one solo block, a block assist and three digs in the win over Catawba.
