ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 4, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Kusamae Draper (Tuskegee) and Brandon Scott (Central State) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KUSAMAE DRAPER, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Forward | Junior | Conyers, Ga.
Draper was a dominant force on both ends of the court, averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds per game in the two victories. Against Lane, he recorded a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double, shooting an efficient 8-of-13 from the field while adding two steals. His rebounding was crucial, as he secured 11 defensive boards, preventing second-chance opportunities for the opposition. He followed that with another stellar outing against Spring Hill, finishing with 26 points and six rebounds while shooting 12-of-23 from the floor. Draper’s ability to control the paint, both offensively and defensively, provided the Golden Tigers with a strong interior presence throughout the week.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – BRANDON SCOTT, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Junior | Hammond, Ind.
Scott, a junior transfer from Western Carolina, was key during a 2-0 week for the Marauders. Last week, Scott averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, connecting on 50 percent (7-of-14) of his attempts from beyond the arc.
