ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 4, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.

Khalia Bryant (
Kentucky State) were recognized.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MYA BYRD, SAVANNAH STATE UNIVERSITY

Byrd scored a game-high 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including going 6-of-11 from the 3-point range, to lead Savannah State to a 76-64 home victory over Edward Waters on Saturday afternoon.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JASMINE MANUEL, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY

Manuel was dominant on both ends of the floor, averaging 14 points and six rebounds per game while showcasing efficiency and leadership. Against Lane, she tallied 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting, adding six rebounds and seven made free throws. She continued her impressive form against Spring Hill, contributing 11 points and six rebounds while shooting 5-of-6 from the field. Manuel’s defensive efforts were crucial as she recorded key stops and provided a strong presence in the paint.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – KHALIA BRYANT, KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY

Bryant has helped lead the Lady Thorobreds to back-to-back victories, averaging 19 points and 13 rebounds per game over the two-game stretch. Against LeMoyne-Owen, Bryant went 7-9 (77%) from the field and shot 92 percent from the free-throw line. She finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and one block. In the Kentucky State's rivalry game against Central State, Bryant had 13 points, 13 rebounds and two steals.
