ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, March 11, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week.
Albany State’s
Zenay Rhaney and
Mykhayla Carroll were recognized.
WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – ZENAY RHANEY, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Senior | LaGrange, Ga.
Rhaney has been a force on the track, delivering back-to-back standout performances at the JD Evilsizer Invitational and the Eagle Invite. She secured multiple top three finishes, including a runner-up finish in the 400m (58.42) and a strong third-place finish in the 1500m (5:19.06). Her endurance, consistency, and ability to compete at a high level in multiple events make her a standout performer.
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – MYKHAYLA CARROLL, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Freshman | Burford, Ga.
Carroll delivered dominant performances in back-to-back meets, showcasing her strength and consistency in the throws. At the JD Evilsizer Invitational, she secured first place in the Women's Discus (42.67m) and finished in the top five in the Shot Put. She followed up with another standout showing at the Eagle Invite, winning the Hammer Throw (45.54m), placing third in Discus (37.38m), and finishing fifth in Shot Put (11.48m).
