SIAC Women’s Track and Field Weekly Honors: March 18

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, March 18, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week. Jayla Kennedy (Clark Atlanta) and Diamond Richardson (Fort Valley State) were recognized.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – JAYLA KENNEDY, CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY
Freshman | Covington, Ga.
Kennedy broke a CAU school record last week in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.89 (1st place) at the Victory Ice Breaker Duals hosted by Berry College only to follow it up with another record breaking performance with a 1st place finish and a time of 11.88 in the 100-meter dash at this past weekend's Falcon Classic and Multi hosted by Montevallo.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – DIAMOND RICHARDSON, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Senior | St. Louis, Missouri
Richardson had a stellar meet at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Classic, securing two second place finishes. She threw a 12.89m mark in the shot put and snagged a second place finish in discus with a 44.66m throw.
