ATLANTA —
Fort Valley State University softball (17-17, 12-9 SIAC) up ended
Clark Atlanta University (5-26, 3-18 SIAC) with a 13-6 and a 8-0 win in Saturday afternoon doubleheader.
The Wildcats showed consistent scoring in the first contest with runs coming in the first, third, sixth and seventh innings.

Jasmin Stewart plated a run with an RBI double to centerfield to make it 2-0.
Laila Leverett capped off the first inning scoring with a sacrifice fly to centerfield. Clark cut into the FVSU lead with a run scoring single making it 3-1. Leverett started the third inning with the hot bat blasting a three run home run to make it 6-1. Clark pushed two around in the bottom of the frame on RBI singles. A big sixth inning separated FVSU from CAU.
Jennifer Ramirez rifled a three RBI triple to deep left field to make it 9-3. She would them come around to score on a passed ball.
Avery Thomas drove a two base knock to left field to pick up an RBI now 11-0 Wildcats. The panthers tried to stay alive scoring three runs on three singles in the frame. Fort Valley scored two more in the top of the seventh on a pair of passed balls to secure the 13-6 win.
Ramirez and Leverett led the offense both having 2-for-3 showings. Ramirez had three RBI and three runs scored as well as a three base knock as Leverett had a run scored, four RBI and a home run.
Alexia Scott, Stewart and Thomas all had doubles in the contest.
Gabrielle Stonecypher got the start in the circle throwing three innings with three runs scoring on five hits with six strikeouts.
Taylor Watson threw the final four innings with three runs scoring on five hits and four strikeouts.
Fort Valley cut the first game short with a five inning 8-0 win. Two runs scored in the first inning with the first one plating
Zayla Skakel being a wild pitch. Stewart had a beaut for a sacrifice bunt to make it 2-0. Stewart would then score in the third inning on a wild pitch, 3-0. Leonard made it 4-0 with a solo homer in the top of the fifth.
Taylor Orrdrove in two more runs with a single up the middle. Leverett would make it 7-0 scoring on a wild pitch and an error by the third baseman. Thomas would round out the scoring with an RBI single to the right side, 8-0 Wildcats.
Leonard led the offense with a 2-for-3 outing with a double and a home run to account for two runs scored and an RBI. Stewart went a perfect 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.
Tenison Myricks got the start and the win in the circle throwing five innings only allowing a single hit and not runs scored with six strikeouts.
The Wildcats are back in action Saturday, April 5, for a doubleheader with Wesleyan College starting at 1 p.m.
