ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday, April 1, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.
Bryce Anderson (
Spring Hill) and
Brayden Thomas (
Savannah State) were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BRYCE ANDERSON, SPRING HILL COLLEGE
Infielder | Senior | Carterville, Ill.
Anderson delivered a dominant performance in the Badgers' series sweep over Lane. He went 9-for-12 (.750) at the plate with seven runs, 10 RBIs and three home runs, including a grand slam. He tallied all three homers and six RBIs during the second game of the series. Anderson also recorded a 1.583 slugging percentage and got on base over 76 percent of the time. The senior infielder showcased his speed with a pair of stolen bases.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – BRAYDEN THOMAS, SAVANNAH STATE UNIVERSITY
Right-Handed Pitcher | Sophomore | Lake City, Fla.
Thomas was in complete control during the series opener against Miles. He recorded a complete game shutout, while also adding seven strikeouts to his tally in SSU's 4-0 win in Birmingham.
