SIAC Baseball Preview: Week 9

All records and statistics are based on SIAC contests.

ATLANTA — With three weeks remaining in the baseball regular season, tensions are high with the goal of an SIAC tournament berth in sight. Here's a look at games happening this week.

EDWARD WATERS AT LANE
Game 1: Friday, April 11, at 1 p.m. ET
Game 2: Friday, April 11, at 4 p.m. ET
Game 3: Saturday, April 12, at 12 p.m. ET

Edward Waters (16-8 SIAC) will travel to Lane (11-12 SIAC) this weekend. The Tigers took two of three from Miles last week, earning a 12-6 win in the opener and a 13-3 rout in the series finale. The Dragons are coming off a pair of victories against Kentucky State, highlighted by their first shutout of the season in Game 2. The series finale was postponed due to inclement weather. Currently, EWU is No. 3 in conference standings, and LC is No. 7.

TUSKEGEE AT BENEDICT
Game 1: Friday, April 11, at 2 p.m. ET

Benedict (13-10 SIAC) will travel to Tuskegee (8-6 SIAC) on Friday to open its weekend series. BC came away with a 2-1 series win over Clark Atlanta last week, holding the Panthers to zero runs in the opener. Tuskegee went winless at Savannah State last week, extending its SIAC losing streak to six. Currently, BC is No. 6 in conference standings, and TU is No. 10.

MOREHOUSE AT SPRING HILL

Spring Hill (21-2 SIAC) will host Morehouse (10-14 SIAC) this weekend. The Badgers are coming off a series sweep of LeMoyne-Owen last week, extending their SIAC win streak to 10 games. Morehouse went 1-2 against Albany State last week, securing a 5-4 win in the series opener. Currently, SHC is No. 1 in conference standings, and MHC is No. 8.

CLARK ATLANTA AT KENTUCKY STATE

Clark Atlanta (9-15 SIAC) will travel to Kentucky State (1-21 SIAC) this weekend. The Panthers dropped two to Benedict last week, falling 11-0 and 4-2 before taking a weather-shortened 6-5 victory in Game 3. Kentucky State will look to improve after being swept by Lane last week. Currently, CAU is No. 9 in the conference standings, and KSU is No. 12.

Savannah State (18-6 SIAC) will travel to LeMoyne-Owen (6-17 SIAC) this weekend. The Tigers swept Tuskegee in a home series last week, extending their SIAC win streak to four games. LeMoyne-Owen will look to rebound after dropping three straight to Spring Hill at home last week. Currently, SSU is No. 2 in conference standings, and LOC is No. 11.

ALBANY STATE AT MILES

Miles (13-9 SIAC) will return home to host Albany State (14-10 SIAC) in a weekend series. The Golden Bears will look to rebound after going 1-2 at Edward Waters last week. Albany State enters the week on a high note following a two-of-three showing at Morehouse. Currently, MC is No. 4 in conference standings, and ASU is No. 5.
