ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, April 15, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week.
Kibren Moore (
Albany State) and
Chase Ransom (
Benedict) were recognized.
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – KIBREN MOORE, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Junior | Mableton, Ga.
Moore lit up the track at the Alice Coachman Invitational, racing to a first-place finish in the 100m dash with a national qualifying time of 10.25. He also played a key role on the 1st-place 4x400m relay team (3:16.12). Moore's explosive speed and clutch performances made him a standout for the Golden Rams.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – CHASE RANSOM, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Senior | Loganville, Ga.
Ransom finished second, and was the top collegiate finisher, in the men's discus throw with a throw of 46.12 meters (151 feet, 4 inches) at the Gamecock Invite. He also finished second in the hammer throw with a throw of 48.45 meters (158 feet, 11 inches).
