SIAC Women's Track and Field Weekly Honors: April 15

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, April 15, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week. Dasia Gilyard (Albany State) and Diamond Richardson (Fort Valley State) were recognized.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – DASIA GILYARD, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Senior | Marietta, Ga.
Gilyard delivered an outstanding performance at the Alice Coachman Invitational, headlining the Lady Golden Rams’ success on the track. She posted a personal record and national qualifying time of 55.20 to win the 400m dash, anchored the 1st-place 4x100m relay team (45.60 NQ), and closed the meet with another victory in the 4x400m relay (3:50.70). Gilyard's speed, consistency, and leadership made her one of the top performers of the meet.

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – DIAMOND RICHARDSON, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Senior | St. Louis, Missouri
Richardson had a stellar weekend at the Alice Coachman invite hosted by Albany State. She snagged a first place finish in the hammer throw with a 47.34m sling. Richardson placed first in discus with 36.28m throw. She capped off her outing with a third place finish in shot put with an 11.56m shove.
