PARIS, Ky. — The
Spring Hill College men's golf team captured its third Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship at Houston Oaks Golf Course on Wednesday.
The Badgers earned their third SIAC championship behind a top-three finish from
Kevin Kelsey (78-71-76—225), a top-five performance from
Chris Brignet (74-71-81—226) and a tie for sixth place from
Hudson Carr (78-75-77—230). Kelsey, who was named the SIAC Freshman of the Year, made his postseason debut.
Kelsey and Brignet both earned all-tournament team honors for their outstanding performances on the links.
Mats Sletten Larsen (81-76-76—233) finished 11th in his first postseason appearance.
Christopher Janson (82-77-76—235) tied for 12th while also making his postseason debut.
Spring Hill will prepare to compete in the NCAA South Regional, hosted by the Greater Orlando Sports Commission and Rollins College, May 8-10 at Mission Resort + Club.
