PUEBLO, Colo. —
Morehouse College concluded its 2025 track and field season with two student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, held May 22–24 at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl. Sophomore Michael Simmons Jr. and junior Jermiah Alibey represented the Maroon Tigers in the 400m dash and 400m hurdles, respectively.
Michael Simmons Jr. took to the track in the 400-meter preliminaries, recording a time of 46.98 seconds, placing him 13th overall. Despite a strong effort, Simmons Jr. did not advance to the finals, which were limited to the top eight competitors.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Jermiah Alibey posted a time of 52.91 seconds, securing the 16th spot in the preliminary round. Similar to his teammate, Alibey did not move on to the finals.
While neither athlete advanced to the finals, their participation at the national level marks a significant achievement for Morehouse College's track and field program. The Maroon Tigers look forward to building upon this experience and aiming for greater success in future championships.
