NEW ORLEANS, La. — The
Tuskegee University men's and women's track and field teams have been honored for their academic excellence by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), earning distinction as All-Academic Teams for the 2025 season.
The women's program posted an impressive 3.552 cumulative team GPA, while the men's squad followed closely with a 3.497 GPA, both exceeding the USTFCCCA's standard for All-Academic Team recognition.
The honor is awarded to collegiate teams that maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and field at least one athlete who has met the athletic qualifications for the NCAA Championships.
In addition to the team awards, standout student-athlete
An'Janae Latchinson was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, marking another milestone in her exceptional season.
Latchinson earned the individual honor by meeting all the association's rigorous academic and athletic criteria, which includes maintaining a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, being academically eligible during the season of competition, and ranking among the top 50 individuals nationally or participating in the NCAA National Championships.
Her performance both in the classroom and on the track underscores Tuskegee's continued commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
These honors are a testament to the dedication of Tuskegee's student-athletes, coach
LaShaunda Easterling, along with the academic support staff, and reflect the university's mission of developing well-rounded leaders prepared to excel on and off the field.
