Kentucky State's Amani Williams Selected to Lead Laney Leapers at HBCU All-Star Dream Classic

NEW YORK — Kentucky State women's basketball head coach Amani Williams has been selected to lead the Laney Leapers at the 2025 HBCU All-Star Dream Classic, set for Aug. 9 at Rucker Park in Harlem.

Top HBCU men's and women's basketball players from across the country will compete Aug. 9, with the women's game tipping off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.

Coach Williams has continued to make a significant impact at Kentucky State, transitioning from a standout student-athlete to the head coach of the same program. In her first season at the helm, she was named the 2023-24 SIAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year, led the Thorobreds to a share of the SIAC West Division regular-season title, and guided the team to the SIAC Tournament championship game.

Her selection to coach at the HBCU All-Star Dream Classic marks a prestigious milestone in her coaching career and reflects her rising influence within HBCU athletics.
