Allen’s Dismukes Tabbed to Quarter Phi Back National Watch List

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Following a breakout debut season, Allen University quarterback Jamir Dismukes continues to earn national recognition—this time as a 2025 selection to the Quarter Phi Back National Watch List, placing him in contention for the prestigious BIP Memorial Trophy.

The award honors the nation's top Black quarterbacks at both the collegiate and high school levels, recognizing student-athletes who exemplify excellence in performance, leadership, and impact on and off the field.

A BREAKOUT SEASON AT THE HELM
In his 2024 debut, Dismukes quickly became the heartbeat of Allen's offense. The SIAC Newcomer of the Year dazzled with his dual-threat ability, throwing for 1,832 yards and 19 touchdowns, while rushing for 284 yards and adding 6 more scores—for a total of 25 touchdowns in just nine games.

A SIGNAL CALLER ON THE NATIONAL STAGE
Now entering his junior season, Dismukes is gaining national attention for his play under center—and his leadership beyond it.

"We're excited to hear about Jamir's nomination to the 2025 HBCU QB National Watch List," said Head Football Coach Cedric Pearl. "He's been having a really good camp, and anytime you garner national attention for your ability on the field, it's truly an honor. Our focus is on postseason awards—both individual and team—and while we're excited about this preseason recognition, we're looking forward to Jamir having a strong season and being in a position to win this award."

The Quarter Phi Back Award is the only national honor dedicated to recognizing Black quarterbacks. Dismukes' inclusion on the watch list positions him among the best in HBCU football and continues to elevate Allen University's national profile.

EYES ON THE 2025 SEASON
The Yellow Jackets will open the 2025 campaign on the road August 30 against Morehead State in Morehead, Kentucky, before returning home for their season opener at Westwood Field on September 6 against Livingstone College.

With Dismukes at the helm, a renewed sense of belief on campus, and a hungry roster behind him, Allen University Football is primed for a season to remember.

Get ready, Yellow Jacket fans—the lights are about to come on, and Allen Football is ready to shine.
