ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Football Players of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 16, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.

Kieren Jackson (
Edward Waters), and
Don Hudson Jr. (
Fort Valley State) were recognized.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JAMIR DISMUKES, ALLEN UNIVERSITY
Quarterback | Junior | Cleveland, Ohio
In a 29-21 win over Lane College, Dismukes completed 28-33 passes (84 percent Completion Rate) for 257 yards. He also had 13 rushes for 52 yards and 1 touchdown, helping Allen to 1-0 in the SIAC.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ISAIAH STEPHENS, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Linebacker | Graduate | Roanoke, Va.
Isaiah Stephens had nine total tackles (3 solo, 6 assist) and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in Benedict's 10-0 victory over Central State.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KIEREN JACKSON, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Wide Receiver/Returner | Junior | Jacksonville, Fla.
Jackson was the difference-maker once again on special teams as he electrified the crowd with a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown, his second return touchdown of the season, to give EWU a 38-31 lead late in the contest. This came after VUU tied the game at 31-31.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – DON HUDSON JR., FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Quarterback | Freshman | Athens, Ga.
The freshman QB picked up his first career start for the Wildcats on Thursday evening and was unstoppable. Through the air, Hudson was 21-26 for 142 yards with two touchdown passes. He also covered the field in the ground game with 141 yards on 23 attempts. He led FVSU in both passing and rushing.
