ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Football Players of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 30, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.

Braelen Morgan (
Fort Valley State) and
Noah Bodden (
Edward Waters) were recognized.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TORRENCE BARDELL, KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY
Quarterback | Graduate | Kenner, La.
Bardell led both the Thorobreds and Tigers with 95 rushing yards that included one with a touchdown. He also completed 6 passes for a total of 134 passing yards with three touchdowns.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DOMONIQUE DAVIS II, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY

Davis delivered another dominant performance in Central State’s 42–13 victory over Lane College at the Frederick Douglass HBCU Classic. The senior linebacker was a force all afternoon, recording 12 total tackles, including 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and a pivotal fumble recovery returned for a touchdown that shifted momentum in the Marauders’ favor.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BRAELEN MORGAN, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Wide Receiver | Graduate | Baton Rouge, La.
Morgan was electric on special teams for the Wildcats. He had two kick off returns for 142 yards. To start the fourth quarter, Morgan broke through the Tuskegee special teams for a 98 yard kick off return for a touchdown. This score ultimately put the Wildcats over the Golden Tigers, 27-20.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – NOAH BODDEN, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY

Senior quarterback Noah Bodden once again turned in one of the better performances of the weekend. Bodden finished EWU's 27-24 victory over Morehouse going 26 for 38 with 292 yards passing with two touchdowns, while adding another touchdown on the ground. Bodden's shining moment was connecting with senior receiver Izaiah Jean-Baptiste for a 26 yard touchdown on 3rd and 26 with 1:46 remaining in the game.
