COLUMBIA, S.C. – The
Benedict College football team is ranked ninth in this week's edition of the HBCU D2 Football Coaches Poll, powered by BoxToRow.
The Tigers are coming off a 10-0 victory over Fayetteville State in Saturday's season opener. Benedict received 36 points from the panel of 18 head coaches.
Virginia Union remains in the top spot. Benedict is one of six SIAC schools represented in the top 10.
The Tigers are off this week, and return to action on Sept. 13 when they travel to take on Central State.
In its fourth year, the HBCU Division II Coaches Poll is administered by BOXTOROW, and is voted on by the HBCU NCAA Division II coaches.
