SIAC Cross Country Weekly Honors: Sept. 9

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Cross Country Runners of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 9, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week. Andrew Drumwright (Central State) and Brea Vann (Albany State) were recognized.

MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – ANDREW DRUMWRIGHT, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY
Senior | Philadelphia, Pa.
Drumwright put together a personal best in the first race of the season.  Running a 17:03 at the Mike Baumer Classic.

WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – BREA VANN, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Freshman | Smyrna, Tenn.
Vann delivered a standout performance in the 2025 season opener at the VSU Border Clash, leading the Albany State women’s cross-country team with a strong showing against a competitive field. Vann crossed the line in 21:30.1, finishing 11th overall and setting the pace for the Lady Golden Rams, who placed fourth as a team. Her determination anchored Albany State’s lineup, placing her among the top individual finishers in the meet and highlighting her as one of the conference’s premier runners to watch this season.
