SIAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors: Jan. 13

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 13, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Na'Haviya Paxton and Jada Morgan of Albany State University were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – NA'HAVIYA PAXTON, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Small Forward | Senior | Lake City, Fla.
Paxton powered the Lady Golden Rams through a perfect week against Lane, Kentucky State, and Central State, playing a key role in extending Albany State’s winning streak. Paxton consistently filled the stat sheet, contributing scoring, rebounding, and defensive effort while logging heavy minutes. Her ability to attack the basket, draw fouls, and make plays in transition helped set the tempo in each contest. Paxton’s toughness and versatility were vital in all three wins, making her one of the most impactful players in the SIAC this week.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – JADA MORGAN, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Junior | Macon, Ga.
Morgan delivered another dominant week, leading the Lady Golden Rams with consistent scoring and leadership in wins over Lane, Kentucky State, and Central State. Morgan was efficient from the floor, aggressive attacking the rim, and dependable in key moments as Albany State continued its surge in conference play. Her ability to score at all three levels while contributing defensively helped separate the Lady Golden Rams from their opponents. Morgan’s performances were instrumental in the program reaching a seven-game winning streak for the first time since the 2010–11 season, underscoring her importance to the team’s success.
