PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KHALIL GENWRIGHT, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Junior | Wilmington, N.C.
Genwright turned in a dominant all-around performance to lead Tuskegee men’s basketball to a key SIAC road victory over rival Miles, posting a game-high 21 points in the Golden Tigers’ 76-65 win at Knox-Windham Gym. Genwright was highly efficient offensively, shooting 7-of-12 from the field, 3-of-4 from 3-point range and a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line. He added three rebounds, two steals and two blocks, while helping anchor a Tuskegee defense that held Miles to 65 points. His scoring and perimeter shooting helped Tuskegee maintain control throughout the second half, as the Golden Tigers shot 44.3 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from 3-point range, pulling away in a physical rivalry matchup. Genwright’s ability to score at all three levels and make winning plays on both ends of the floor was instrumental in securing the conference road win.
