PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MAKAYLA RIEVES, MILES COLLEGE

Rieves averaged a point a minute in two big wins for the Lady Bears this week. In two games, she put up 17.5 points on 74 percent shooting (17-of-23), 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 17.5 minutes per game. In a win over Tuskegee, she scored a career-high 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field (also career highs) and added eight rebounds. In Miles' victory over Albany State, the senior had her second career double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) and added two blocked shots.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – CALYANNA CAGE, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY

Cage delivered an outstanding week for the Marauders, playing a key role in two victories that marked the team’s first winning streak of the season. Her all-around impact was on full display in a win over LeMoyne-Owen, where she posted 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals, consistently influencing the game on both ends of the floor. She followed that performance with a clutch showing in a rivalry win over Kentucky State, scoring 20 points while shooting an efficient 5-of-8 from 3-point range, adding three assists, two rebounds and a steal. Cage consistently provided timely answers whenever Kentucky State threatened with a run, demonstrating poise, leadership and the ability to deliver in critical moments.
