SIAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors: Jan. 27

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Volleyball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 27, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week. Parfait Mugabo (Edward Waters), Muhammad Mbaye (Fort Valley State), and Logan Rogers (Fort Valley State) were recognized.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – PARFAIT MUGABO, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Outside Hitter | Freshman | Austin, Texas
Mugabo continued his strong play for the Tigers as EWU finished the week with a 3-1 victory over Webber International. Mugabo, a freshman from Austin, Texas, notched 16 kills, three aces, four digs and three blocks.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MUHAMMAD MBAYE, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Opposite Hitter/Middle Blocker | Senior | New York, N.Y.
Mbaye was a force to be reckoned with at the net during the Wildcats three contests against top four Division I opponents last week. He recorded eight block assists while also adding four digs and six kills hitting .333 through three matches.

SETTER OF THE WEEK – LOGAN ROGERS, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Setter/Opposite Hitter | Freshman | Apopka, Fla.
Rogers paced the offense as a setter with 24 assists. He had a complete performance against these top ranked opponents adding 11 kills, four service aces and four digs.
