ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 10, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.
Myles Wessels and
Kyle Cline of
Miles College were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MYLES WESSELS, MILES COLLEGE
Outfielder | Sophomore | Florissant, Mo.
Wessels slashed .364/.588/.455 in four games where the Golden Bears went 3-1. He went 4-for-11 with a double, six walks, five RBI, 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts and scored six times. His best performance came in a 9-4 win over Southern University of New Orleans, where he went 2-of-4 with a double, walk four RBI and three stolen bases.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – KYLE CLINE, MILES COLLEGE
Pitcher | Junior | Gadsden, Ala.
Cline allowed just four hits and struck out seven in six innings of a 9-0 win over Xavier at the Ron Washington Classic in New Orleans. The junior has yet to allow a run this season in 11 innings pitches and has not allowed a batter to make it to third base this season through two starts.
