ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 17, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.
Shakur Poteat (

Keshawn Evans (
Edward Waters) were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SHAKUR POTEAT, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY

Poteat delivered an exceptional week for Albany State, leading the Golden Rams with a dynamic offensive performance against Miles College and Spring Hill College. Poteat showcased elite efficiency and scoring ability, highlighted by a spectacular 34-point outing in Albany State’s 74–71 victory over Miles. He shot an astounding 11-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-6 from three-point range, while converting all seven of his free-throw attempts. Poteat continued his strong play against Spring Hill, providing steady scoring, leadership, and perimeter presence. Across the week, he demonstrated remarkable shot-making, composure in key moments, and the ability to take over games offensively.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – KESHAWN EVANS, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY

Evans played a major role in Edward Water 59-55 road victory over Savannah State on Saturday afternoon. Evans led the Tigers with 13 points and eight rebounds on 5-for-8 for shooting from the field including 1-for-2 from three-point range with three steals on 28 minutes of action.
