ALBANY, Ga. — In a game defined by momentum swings and relentless intensity, Allen University proved its toughness on the road Thursday night, defeating Albany State 80–75 in a hard-fought SIAC battle at HPER Gym Complex. The win showcased Allen's depth, resilience, and ability to execute when the stakes were highest.
Allen set the tone early, jumping out to a 19–17 first-quarter edge, but the matchup quickly evolved into a chess match. Albany State answered with a strong second quarter, briefly taking control before Allen erupted in the third, shooting a blistering 75% from the field in the period to reclaim momentum and swing the game back in its favor.
The fourth quarter became a test of composure — and the Lady Yellow Jackets passed. Allen shot 62.5% in the final frame, calmly closing out the road win despite Albany State's late push. The contest featured 12 ties and 10 lead changes, underscoring just how tightly contested the matchup remained from start to finish.
IMPACT PERFORMERS
Eboni Clay delivered a standout performance, leading Allen with 21 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting, while knocking down two threes and adding defensive presence with steals and blocks.
Peighton Jambor provided a strong interior and perimeter presence, finishing with 16 points and 5 rebounds, giving Allen a steady scoring option whenever momentum needed stabilizing.
Morgan Smith added 15 points and 8 rebounds, anchoring the paint and providing second-chance opportunities, while Anissa Tuitt contributed 12 points and 6 rebounds, impacting both ends of the floor with energy and physicality.
Allen's supporting cast proved just as vital. Daiysha Brown chipped in 8 points, Tanaja Kennedycontrolled the offense with 11 assists, and the bench combined for 25 points, a key factor in sustaining pace and pressure throughout the game.
