SIAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors: Feb. 24

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 24, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Kusamae Draper (Tuskegee) and Cameron Jernigan (Miles) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KUSAMAE DRAPER, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Forward | Senior | Conyers, Ga.
Draper paced the Golden Tigers this week, averaging 18.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field across three contests. He totaled 54 points, 20 rebounds, and 6 assists while playing more than 33 minutes per game. Draper exploded for 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting against Albany State, adding four rebounds and two steals. He followed with 16 points and eight rebounds versus Savannah State and 14 points with eight rebounds against Edward Waters to close the regular season.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – CAMERON JERNIGAN, MILES COLLEGE
Forward | Senior | Gary, Ind.
Jernigan posted two double-doubles and averaged 14.7 points on 54 percent shooting and 9.0 rebounds as the Golden Bears went 2-1. In a loss against Savannah State, he had 18 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. In a win over Spring Hill, he had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
