SIAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors: March 31

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Volleyball Players of the Week on Tuesday, March 31, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week. Jared Brown (Benedict), Cameron Long (Benedict) and Caden Houston (Edward Waters) were recognized.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JARED BROWN, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker | Junior | St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
Brown averaged 9.5 kills per match and hit .227 in a pair of conference wins over Kentucky State? last week. He had 10 kills in a 3-1 victory on Friday, and had nine kiills in a 3-0 victory on Saturday. Brown added three total blocks and a pair of service aces.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CAMERON LONG, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Libero/Defensive Specialist | Senior | Rock Hill, S.C.
Long averaged 13.5 digs per match in a pair of SIAC victories over Kentucky State. He had 14 digs in a 3-1 victory on Friday, then had 13 digs in a 3-0 victory on Saturday.

SETTER OF THE WEEK – CADEN HOUSTON, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Setter | Freshman | Oviedo, Fla.
Houston continued his terrific play for Edward Waters as the Tigers finished the week 1-2 in matches against Warner and Barry. He totaled 90 assists, eight service aces, seven digs and one kill across the three matches. Houston racked up 43 assists, five aces and five digs in the Tigers 3-1 victory over Warner.
