SIAC Baseball Weekly Honors: March 10

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday, March 10, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Angelo Prieto (Edward Waters) and Samuel Crew (Albany State) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ANGELO PRIETO, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Outfielder | Junior | Miami, Fla.
Prieto had an outstanding weekend for the Edward Waters baseball team helping them to a 2-1 weekend road SIAC series victory over Benedict College. Prieto finished with five hits, seven runs scored, five RBI, three stolen bases, two doubles and two home runs. The junior from Miami, Fla. had a breakout performance with four hits, four runs, four RBI, two home runs, a double and a stolen base in EWU's 17-4 victory over Benedict.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – SAMUEL CREW, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Pitcher | Junior | Ringgold, Ga.
Crew delivered a standout performance on the mound to help lead Albany State to a series sweep over Savannah State. Crew was dominant in the series finale, pitching seven strong innings while allowing just one run (unearned) on four hits and striking out seven batters. His ability to control the game and keep Savannah State’s offense in check gave the Golden Rams the momentum they needed to secure a 6–1 victory and complete the weekend sweep. Crew consistently attacked the strike zone and generated key outs throughout the game, highlighting his poise and command on the mound.
