FLORENCE, Ky. —
Kentucky State baseball rallied with a big middle innings surge to defeat Thomas More 11-10 on Tuesday at Thomas More Stadium in Florence, Kentucky.
The Thorobreds (7-23) broke the game open with four runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth, turning a 1-0 deficit into a 9-4 advantage. Kentucky State added two more runs in the seventh, which proved critical as Thomas More mounted a late comeback.
Ryan Campbell led the offensive effort, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Aidan Mundy added three hits and two RBIs, while
Brad Dossett scored three runs, reached base four times and stole two bases.
Haruta Endo sparked the lineup at the top, scoring twice and swiping three bases as Kentucky State totaled seven stolen bases in the game.
The Thorobreds finished with 14 hits and drew five walks.
On the mound,
Cameron McDonald earned the victory with a scoreless inning of relief, and
Connor Sauss closed the door with two shutout innings to record the save.
Thomas More scored 10 runs on 10 hits, including two home runs, and threatened late,
