ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, April 14, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – CADENCE CRAY, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Junior | Baxley, Ga.
Cray delivered a record-breaking performance at the Alice Coachman Invitational, leading Albany State with a dominant showing in the sprints. Cray captured first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.56, setting a new school record and establishing herself as one of the top sprinters in the conference. Her performance not only earned maximum points for the Lady Golden Rams but also set the tone for a dominant team effort that resulted in a first-place finish. In addition to her individual success, Cray’s speed and leadership contributed to Albany State’s overall excellence on the track, as the program showcased depth and competitiveness across multiple events.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – CADENCE TANNER, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY

Tanner delivered a standout, multi-event performance at the Alice Coachman Invitational, showcasing her versatility and dominance in the field events, capturing first place in both the long jump with a mark of 5.49 meters and the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters. Her ability to excel across multiple disciplines contributed significantly to the Lady Golden Rams’ team.
