No. 1 Fort Valley State Outlasts No. 4 Edward Waters in Five-Set Battle, Advances to Championship Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Top-seeded Fort Valley State outlasted No. 4 Edward Waters, 3-2 (25-16, 21-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-8), in a five-set semifinal match Friday afternoon in the 2026 SIAC Men’s Volleyball Tournament at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex.

The Wildcats improve to 15-12 overall and will advance to the championship round to face the winner of No. 3 Benedict vs. No. 2 Central State.

Fort Valley State totaled 54 kills (.288), 49 assists, 34 digs, 20 block assists, five service aces and two solo blocks.

FVSU took the opening set before Edward Waters claimed the next two. The Wildcats responded in the fourth and pulled away in the fifth frame, holding the Tigers to eight points.

2026 SIAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year Isaiah Fedd led the Wildcats with a match-high 20 kills (.441). He added seven digs, three block assists, two service aces and one assist. Taviian Martin followed with 11 kills (.409) and led the front line in blocks with seven block assists and one solo block. Muhammad Mbaye had nine kills and added three block assists, two digs and one assist. Keaton Long contributed six kills, four assists and four block assists.

2026 SIAC Men’s Volleyball Freshman of the Year Logan Rogers orchestrated the offense with 37 assists. Rogers also contributed nine digs, four kills, three block assists and two service aces.
