SIAC Softball Weekly Honors: April 21

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Softball Players of the Week on Tuesday, April 21, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Trenity Okedele (Miles) and Riley Kapparis (Edward Waters) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TRENITY OKEDELE, MILES COLLEGE
First Base | Junior | Dallas, Texas
Okedele slashed .429/.429/.786 over five games with two doubles, a home run and 7 RBI for the Lady Bears. She went 6-for-14 at the plate.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – RILEY KAPPARIS, EDWARD WATERS
Pitcher/Infielder | Sophomore | Yulee, Fla.
Kapparis continued her dominant season in the circle helping the EWU Lady Tigers to a 2-1 SIAC road series victory over rival Savannah State. Kapparis appeared in all three contests, tossing 20.0 total innings, recording 17 strikeouts while allowing just eight earned runs and 17 total hits. The sophomore from Yulee, Fla., opened the series against Savannah State by hurling a two-hit shutout victory with 10 strikeouts. She also aded four hits, an RBI, a run scored  and a double from the plate as a batter. Kapparis also compiled 10.2 innings with 10 strikeouts and one earned run as the EWU Lady Tigers picked up two wins over crosstown for Trinity Baptist.
