Spring Hill Improve to 4-0 at SIAC Roundup

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill men's tennis team picked up a pair of victories on Day Two of the SIAC Roundup, defeating Benedict 5-2 before following up with a 7-0 sweep of Tuskegee. The Badgers are now 9-1 in Roundup matches this spring, including a perfect 4-0 in the current event.
 
MATCH DETAILS
Spring Hill began play on Thursday by sweeping the doubles point against Benedict, with Leonard Wendland following with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on Court 6 to make it a 2-0 lead. Luke Tucker picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win on Court 5 to put the Badgers on the brink of a clinch, Cristobal Rios came away with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the fourth flight to earn the final point of the match. Each of the top three singles flights resulted in a retirement.
 
The Badgers continued momentum into the nightcap against Tuskegee, earning the doubles point before sweeping singles action. SHC has now swept SIAC opponents six times in ten matches so far this season.

UP NEXT
The Badgers will wrap up the SIAC Roundup on Friday, when they will take on Benedict and LeMoyne-Owen each for the fourth time this season. Spring Hill is 6-0 against those two teams so far this spring, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 37-2 in those matches.
 
The match against Benedict is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m., with the Badgers closing out the tournament with LeMoyne-Owen at 2 p.m.
