ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Softball Players of the Week on Tuesday, April 7, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.
Avery Fisher and
McKenzie Fitch of
Albany State University were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – AVERY FISHER, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Infielder | Senior | Richmond Hill, Ga.
Fisher was a driving force behind the Lady Golden Rams’ explosive offensive week. She consistently produced at the plate, delivering multiple extra-base hits and key RBIs in crucial moments. Fisher showcased both power and precision, including home run performances and clutch hits that helped fuel multiple run-rule victories. Her ability to set the tone offensively and contribute in high-pressure situations played a major role in Albany State’s undefeated week.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – MCKENZIE FITCH, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Pitcher | Freshman | Dacula, Ga.
Fitch delivered a dominant performance in the circle, leading the Lady Golden Rams with confidence and efficiency. She earned a complete-game shutout victory in a 9-0 win, allowing just two hits while striking out three and issuing no walks. Fitch controlled the tempo from start to finish, keeping hitters off balance and demonstrating excellent command. Her poise and consistency were instrumental in Albany State’s continued success during the week.
