DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Edward Waters University women's volleyball team wrapped up its opening weekend of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to tournament host Embry-Riddle University at the ICI Center in the final match of the 2026 Bahama House Classic.
The Lady Tigers battled throughout the contest but fell by set scores of 25-7, 25-16 and 25-10 against the Eagles.
Despite opening the season with a 0-3 record at the tournament, the weekend provided the Lady Tigers with valuable experience against tough competition as Edward Waters continues to build chemistry and gain momentum heading into the remainder of the 2026 campaign.
Norah Laurore led the Lady Tigers offensively against Embry-Riddle, finishing with a team-high seven kills. Freshman Naraiya Thompson continued her strong start to the season, contributing 10 assists and four digs.
Shaniah Jones added six digs and four assists, while Dimaliz Figueroa contributed six digs defensively for Edward Waters.
The Lady Tigers will now turn their attention toward their home opener as they prepare to return to the court on Saturday, September 12, when Edward Waters hosts Agnes Scott College for its first home match of the 2026 season.
First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. inside the Adams-Jenkins Complex.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Lady Tigers as they make their 2026 home debut.
