ALBANY, Ga. – The
Benedict College women's volleyball team picked up their first two wins of the season with a pair of victories on Saturday at the Black Excellence Volleyball Classic on the campus of
Albany State University.
Benedict defeated Claflin 3-2 in the first game of the morning, and followed that with a 3-0 victory over Clinton College.
The Lady Tigers rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Claflin, 25-22, 25-27, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12.
Angelic Carter led the Lady Tigers with 12 kills.
Jayden Johnson was one kill short of a triple double, finishing with nine kills, 13 assists and a team-high 27 digs.
Willow Alls had a team-high 23 assists.
Benedict followed with a 25-17, 25-11, 25-20 victory over Clinton.
Desire' Young had a team-high 10 kills, hitting .692 in the process. The Lady Tigers hit .379 as a team. Alls had 16 assists, while Johnson and
Kelsey Joshua led the defense with five digs each.
Benedict, now 2-1 on the season, travel to Rock Hill on Friday to take on Clinton at 6 p.m.
