Benedict College to Host 1st Black Baseball World Series
Benedict College has joined forces with the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League, Inc. (MJBL) once again to reveal how historically black colleges and universities baseball programs must be in the forefront in reviving African American interest and participation in the game of baseball.
On July 29 – August 3, 2008, Benedict College will play host to over 700 youth for the 18th Annual MJBL Inner City Classic and its annual Bobby Bonds Memorial Symposium. Gwen Reeves highlighted by NCAA magazine: The Champion

Archie Manning, chairman of The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF), announced today the 2008 Divisional Hall of Fame Class. INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Baseball Committee has selected the 48 teams that will participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. Stillman College received an automatic bid and will represent the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Morehouse College, Benedict College & Kentucky State University all faired well at the 22nd PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Morehouse led the charge for the SIAC finishing in fourth place with a team score of 929 over the three day event. Benedict finished in 6th and Kentucky State in 7th in the Division II section.
