Dr. William Lide
Commissioner
Dr. William E. Lide became Commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2003. Prior to his appointment, Lide served as Athletic Director at the University of Central Arkansas. He received his bachelor’s degree from Johnson C. Smith University in 1973 and a master’s from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1976. He earned his doctorate in physical education and administration from The Ohio State University in 1980. Commissioner Lide has enjoyed success as a football and track & field athlete. He is a member of the Johnson C. Smith Sports Hall of Fame and a member of the All Pro Countdown Team of the CFL as a former player for the Calgary Stampeders.

George K. Mategakis
Assistant to the Commissioner Director of Championships
George Mategakis is in his fifth year of service with the SIAC as the Director of Championships. Mr. Mategakis directs all league championships, special events and day-to-day operations of the conference office. He is also the conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee and CHAMPS/Life Skills liaison. He joined the SIAC from the University of Central Arkansas, where he served as the Marketing/Game Operations Assistant. His previous experiences include working as an Area Manager with the Super Bowl Organizing Committee for Super Bowl XXXV in Tampa, FL and interning with the MCI Classic Golf Tournament in Hilton Head, SC. George earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a Minor in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University in 2001.
Harry “Trae” Stinson III
Director of Communications
Harry “Trae” Stinson III, is entering his third year with the conference and currently works as the Director of Communications and Marketing Assistant for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) where he promotes, through the media, the conference and all of its member institutions and student athletes. Over the past two years under his leadership the SIAC has grown in media coverage by more than 20%. He is also responsible for increasing the marketability and image of the SIAC by developing marketing strategies, community initiatives and branding the SIAC. Trae got his Master’s in Sport Administration from Georgia State University in 2005 and received his undergraduate degrees in Sport Administration and Exercise Science from Florida State University. He is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Dana Garrett
Director of Finance
Dana Garrett was appointed Administrator of Budget and Finance August 27,2007. Dana is a native of Atlanta with over 20 years in the Banking and Finance Industry. Dana worked for SunTrust Bank where she served as a Credit Analyst. There she was responsible for spreading financial statements and determining a company’s credit worthiness. Dana also worked for Bank of America, Wachovia and Citizens Trust Bank. Dana attended Georgia State College where she majored in Business Administration. Her future plans are to obtain a degree in Paralegal Studies where she can better enhance her career.
