Week 7 recap of games throughout the SIAC:
Fort Valley State at Clark Atlanta
Fort Valley State scored on the game’s opening drive when Tony Reid capped off a 5-play, 69-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run, giving the Wildcats an early 7-0 lead. Running back Winston Thompson would get Clark Atlanta on the board, early in the second, with an 11-yard touchdown run. Fort Valley State would respond with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Nicholas Stephens to Aaron Courtney. After a CAU field goal, Stephens would find Tony Reid for a 31-yard score, giving the Wildcats a 24-10 halftime lead. After a scoreless third, Stephens would find Reid again, this time for a 13-yard score. On FVSU’s next offensive possession, Reid would punch it in from 6 yards out to give the Wildcats a 38-10 lead. Fort Valley State would go on to win 40-16. Running back Tony Reid had 122 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns while also catching four balls for 63 yards and two touchdowns. CAU’s Winston Thompson had 94 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown while Ricky Moore had a game-high 14 tackles.

Benedict at Lane
Benedict took an early 13-0 lead in the first quarter on a 25-yard run by Milton Meyers and a 35-yard fumble return by Ricardo Wallen. After a Lane field goal midway through the second, Benedict’s Emmanuel Houston would break a 19-yard touchdown run to give the Tigers a 20-3 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Lane would mount a comeback on two Darren Henry touchdown runs of 70 and four yards respectively, making the score 20-16 heading into the fourth. Midway through the fourth, Lane would take the lead on a 5-yard touchdown run by Tahj Dent. Benedict’s Andy Polanco kicked the game into overtime as time expired. After Lane failed to convert on their possession in overtime, Benedict’s Emmanuel would break a 25-yard touchdown run, on their first play; giving the Tigers a 30-23 overtime win. Emmanuel Houston finished with 54 yards on three carries and two touchdowns while Reynard Parks had a game-high 10 tackles. Lane’s Darren Henry finished with 98 yards on six carries and two scores.

Kentucky State at Central State
Kentucky State got off to a fast start when Jerrell Noland hit Jamaree Gordon for a 40-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game. After a Central State field goal, Jerrell Noland would find Raphael Amey for a 41-yard touchdown pass. Early in the second, Central State’s Josh Anderson would score on a 9-yard run but KSU would respond with a 12-play, 76-yard drive that would end with a 6-yard Anthony Boykin touchdown run, giving them a 20-10 lead at the half. Midway through the third quarter, Noland would throw his third touchdown on the day, finding Daniel Barnes for 13 yards. Both teams would add two touchdowns apiece in the fourth, giving Kentucky State a 41-24 win. Jerrell Noland completed 14 of 23 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns. Central State’s Josh Anderson rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries while Michael Cade had a game-high seven tackles.

Concordia at Stillman
Concordia got on the board first when Joe Coachman hit Fred Rouse for a 13-yard touchdown pass. Stillman would answer with an 8-play, 45-yard drive that ended with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Desmond Holloway to Damian Ford. Late in the first quarter Rouse would strike again, this time catching a 72-yard strike from T’chelipo Woods. After a T’chelipo Woods touchdown run, Stillman would respond with 7-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Burney to Ronald Davis. Stillman would add a field goal in the third but it wouldn’t be enough as they fall to Concordia, 18-17. Stillman Chester Hightower finished with 197 all-purpose yards, including 61 yards rushing, while Jeremy Hall had a game-high nine tackles and two sacks. Concordia’s Fred Rouse had 163 yards on five catches and two scores.

Miles at Albany State
Albany State quarterback Stanley Jennings threw two touchdowns in the first quarter, a 16-yarder to Ronnie Childs and a 68-yarder to LiRonnie Davis, giving them an early 13-0 lead. ASU running back Robert Welton added an 8-yard touchdown run late in the second to give the Golden Rams a 20-0 halftime lead. After halftime, ASU wide receiver Octavius Stanton caught two touchdowns passes of 41and 27 yards respectively. Miles would get on the board late in the fourth when Carlton Hill hit Vondragus Hudson for a 21-yard touchdown pass, giving Albany State a 34-7 win. Stanley Jennings threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns. Miles’ Jerromy Mardis finished with 140 all-purpose yards while Reginald Virges had a game-high nine tackles along with one and a half sacks.

Tuskegee vs. Morehouse
Tuskegee scored the game’s first points on a 2-yard run by Nykeem Barton. Tuskegee would score again, early in the second quarter, on an 8-yard reception by Jonathan Lessa from Joshua Harris but the extra point was blocked and returned for two points by Morehouse’s Darrius Williams. Midway through the second, Nykeem Barton would score on a 7-yard touchdown run, giving the Golden Tigers a 21-2 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Morehouse’s Charlie Wilson blocked a punt which was picked up by teammate Samuel Gilmore and returned 36 yards for a touchdown. Late in third quarter, Tuskegee’s Eduardo Murillo would add a 22-yard field goal making it 24-9 heading into the fourth quarter. Both teams would add touchdowns in the fourth quarter, giving Tuskegee a 31-15 win. Nykeem Barton finished with 71 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns. Morehouse’s Tyjuan McFadden had seven catches for 77 yards while Charlie Wilson had a game-high 12 tackles.
