Week 6 recap of games throughout the SIAC:
Stillman at Clark Atlanta
Clark Atlanta got on the board first with a safety early in the first quarter. Later in the quarter, CAU quarterback Ronald Thompson hit Marquise Brown on a 48-yard touchdown pass to give the Panthers an early 9-0 lead. Clark Atlanta would add a 25-yard field goal by Joshua Dubois to take a 12-0 lead into halftime. Stillman would finally get on the board when Sean Stallings recovered a Winston Thompson fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. The Tigers would take the lead midway through the fourth quarter on a 2-yard run by Marque Williams. Late in the fourth quarter, Ronald Thompson would lead a 7-play, 93-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard go ahead touchdown run by Winston Thompson with 29 seconds remaining in the game, giving CAU the 19-14 win. CAU’s Marquise Brown finished with six catches for 149 yards and a touchdown while Harrison Porter finished with seven tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Stillman’s Antonio Salter had a game-high 11 tackles.

Benedict at Fort Valley State
After a field goal on their opening drive, Fort Valley State would come back with an 8-yard touchdown from Eugene Smith to Aaron Courtney. After another FVSU field goal early in the second quarter, Benedict would respond with a 5-play, 60-yard drive that ended with a 3-yard touchdown run by Michael Adams. Later in the quarter, Fort Valley State’s Tim Shelley returned a blocked punt 19 yards for a touchdown to give the Wildcats a 20-6 halftime lead. Midway through the third quarter, Benedict’s Pat Riley broke a 24-yard run for a touchdown. Fort Valley State would answer with a 22-yard touchdown run by Aaron Courtney to make the score 27-13. Fort Valley State would add two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to win 41-13. FVSU’s Eugene Smith threw for 211 yards and a touchdown. Benedict’s Kareem Dunlap had two catches for 101 yards. FVSU’s Darnell Burks had a game-high eight tackles.

Lane at Albany State
Robert Welton gave Albany State an early lead with a 5-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter. Later in the first quarter ASU quarterback Stanley Jennings finds LiRonnie Davis for a 65-yard touchdown pass. Lane would respond on their next possession with a 31-yard touchdown pass from Tahj Dent to Cordero Cooper to make the score 14-7. After a scoreless second quarter, Stanley Jennings found LiRonnie Davis again for another touchdown, this time for 6 yards, early in third quarter. Early in the fourth, Lane’s Tahj Dent ran in for a 7-yard score to cut the Albany State lead to 11. Albany State would respond with a 59-yard touchdown pass from Stanley Jennings to Octavius Stanton to make the score 30-13. The Golden Rams would add two more touchdowns, including a 17-yard run by Robert Welton, to win to 43-13. Stanley Jennings completed 13 of 22 passes for 284 yards and four touchdowns. Tahj Dent threw for 101 yards and a touchdown while running for 43 yards and another score. Lane’s Patrick Morrison and Aaron Appleby tied for a game-high nine tackles.

Miles at Tuskegee
Antoine Mitchell caught two first quarter touchdowns, 10 and 28 yards respectively, from Joshua Harris to give Tuskegee an early 14-0 lead. In the second quarter, Tuskegee would score 14 points, including a 36-yard pass from Joshua Harris to Philand Browder, to give Tuskegee a 28-0 halftime lead. Tuskegee’s John Pascley added a 9-yard run early in the third quarter to make the score 34-0. The Golden Tigers would add 17 more points in the fourth quarter, including a 47-yard run by Travon Lawson, to win 51-0. Joshua Harris threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns while Antoine Mitchell caught five passes for 115 yards and two scores. Miles’ Jerromy Mardis had 156 all-purpose yards while Quentin Jones had a game-high 10 tackles, including eight solos.

Kentucky State at Eastern Kentucky
Eastern Kentucky would score 24 first quarter points, including 34-yard pass from T.J. Pryor to Tyrone Goard as time expired. The Colonels would 14 more points in the second quarter, including a 76-yard interception return by Tyson Patrick, to take a 38-0 lead into halftime. On the second play after the half, Eastern Kentucky’s Kyle Lumpkin breaks out for a 62-yard touchdown run. After a fumble by EKU, Kentucky State scored their only points of the game on a 2-yard touchdown run by Andrew Ramsey late in third quarter. Eastern Kentucky’s Matt Denham would add two fourth quarter touchdown runs (62, 31), giving the Colonels a 58-7 win. Denham finished with 101 yards on three carries and two touchdowns. KSU’s Andrew Ramsey finished with 122 all-purpose yards and a touchdown while Derrick Addai had a game-high 11 tackles and a sack.
