Fischer, Johnson, Claflin recognized by NCAA II National Ranking Committee

Claflin University’s Lady Panthers volleyball players have been recognized by the NCAA Division II National Ranking Committee, this week.  The National Ranking Committee meets weekly and ranks teams and individuals for their performance over the past week.

Katherin Fischer the NCAA II National Statistical leader last season is keeping up the pace and has been ranked #1 again by the NCAA as the leader in service aces per set.  Fischer has averaged 1.22 Service Aces per set through the week of October 10, 2012.

Claflin University Freshman Kiara Johnson, has been recognized by the committee and is tied for 16th in the nation in Service Aces per set.  Currently Johnson is averaging .60 aces per set.

Thanks to the efforts of Fischer and her teammates Claflin University has been ranked #1 in Service Aces per match, by the National Ranking Committee.

Claflin’s volleyball record is 13-8, and is riding a two match win streak, with victories over CIAA opponents Fayetteville State University and Winston-Salem State University this past week.

Claflin University meets SIAC rival Paine College today at 6:00 pm in Augusta, GA.
