Orangeburg, S.C.—With just a few days before he steps on the track to compete in his first-ever Olympics, Claflin University men’s track star Brandon Valentine-Parris is making the most out of his experience.
Valentine-Parris, who will be competing in the 400 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics, has had a chance to meet and greet athletes from various nations. USA men’s basketball star Carmelo Anthony, 100m American Record Holder, Tyson Gay and South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk, who is currently the 400 meter world champion, are just a few of the athletes he’s met over the last week-plus while in Rio.
Valentine-Parris will step on the track for the first time, this
Friday, Aug. 12, as he competes in the first round of the men’s 400 meters. The 400 meters get underway at
7:20 p.m. EST.
