Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Nov. 27

ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men’s basketball Players of the Week for the week of Nov. 27.
 
Jaleel Charles (Clafin) was selected Player of the Week alongside, Chris Scott (Central State) who was tabbed Newcomer of the Week.

Charles averaged 16 points per game for the week leading Clafin to a 4-1 overall record for the season. The New York native shot 46.4 percent (11-of-24) from the floor and led the Panthers to their first conference win over Lane College. Charles led the Panthers offense as he scored 18 total points and 10 rebounds while adding three blocks and a season-high two steals. Following that performance, he posted an additional 14 points in the Panthers victory over St. Augustine’s while adding nine rebounds and a block.
 
 
Newcomer of the Week
Chris Scott
Central State
Center 6-8 Jr. Cleveland, OH
 
Scott averaged 15.4 points for the week leading Central State to a 2-3 overall record. The Ohio native led the Marauders with 25 total points while shooting 87.5 percent (14-of-16) from the free throw line and 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from the floor. Throughout the game Scott added eight rebounds, one assist, and one block in the Marauders 72-67 win over conference opponent, Albany State.
