Men’s Basketball Players of the Week: Feb. 12
ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men’s basketball Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 12.
Kendarius Ash (Lane) was selected Player of the Week alongside, Jeremy Brown (Central State) who was tabbed Co-Player of the Week while teammate, Charles Ruise, was named Newcomer of the Week.

Forward • 6-7 • Sr. • Decatur, Ga.
Kendarius Ash continues his string of double-doubles as he led the Dragons to two victories this week. Ash hauled in 17 boards in each of the games against Miles College and LeMoyne-Owen College. Ash also dished out 12 assists in the two games. The Georgia native shot at 50 percent (5-of-10) from the field in the feat over Miles and came back and shot at 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the free-throw line in the Dragons feat over rival, LeMoyne-Owen. Ash finished the week posting 25 points for the Dragons while recording his season-high eight assists, two steals, and one block. The Dragons will finish out their season on a road-stance as they travel to face Philander Smith, Spring Hill, and rival, LeMoyne-Owen College.

Jeremy Brown
Central State

Central State fed off the energy of Jeremy Brown to manufacture of 7-1 run and eventually claimed a 21-20 lead and top their rival Kentucky State. Brown recorded his third double-double of the season while posting season-highs throughout the weekend. The Indianapolis native posted his season-highs 19 points and 14 rebounds in the Marauders second feat over Kentucky State while adding his season-high five steals. In both games, Brown shot over 50 percent from the field and finished the week with 35 points, 23 rebounds, six steals, three assists, and one assist. The Marauders will return to action on their final road stance as they travel to face Tuskegee, Miles, and Salem International.
Newcomer of the Week
Charles Ruise
Central State
Guard • 6-2 • Jr. • Baker County, Fl.
Ruise assisted the Marauders in their double win over rival, Kentucky State. The Florida native posted multiple season highs as he posted 27 points, six rebounds, and one block against Kentucky State this past weekend. In the first face off, Ruise shot above 60 percent from the field and from the free-throw line while adding 10 points and four rebounds. For the week, the junior averaged 18.5 points while adding 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block. The Marauders will return to action on their final road stance as they travel to face Tuskegee, Miles, and Salem International.
