ALBANY, Ga. | The Golden Rams hosted the Wildcats of Fort Valley State on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd at the HPER Complex at East Campus in a game that culminated homecoming week for Albany State.
The weekend included a alumni basketball game Friday with over 1,500 fans and 24 alumni athletes.
On Saturday the school hosted over 40 alumni athletes for a reception in their honor. Legendary coaches such as Oliver Jones and John I Davis were in attendance.
As for the current Golden Rams, they cruised to a 72-61 win in a game that saw ASU lead throughout and grow their lead to as many as 30 points in the second half.
Jared Harrington led Albany State (13-14, 12-5) with 18 points. Mario Young scored 13 points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor. Tyrell Williams added 10 points and six rebounds.
Jaylon McMillan had a game-high 23 points for Fort Valley State (7-21, 6-11).
ASU concludes their regular season on Monday, February 18th, when they host Columbus State University. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
