COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three former Benedict College baseball players recently finished their professional season as part of the New York Bucks team, a member of the Empire Professional Baseball League.
Devon Lemon, (Class of 2016), Andrew McCoy (Class of 2018) and Darian Williams (Class of 2019) were all teammates on the Bucks. The Bucks finished the 2019 season with a 3-29 record.
Lemon was named to the Empire League All-Star game in July. He finished the season with a 1-3 record and had the second-best ERA on the team. Williams was also on the pitching staff for the Bucks, starting six games and going 2-3.
McCoy, an outfielder, hit .318 on the season with nine RBIs, one home run and six stolen bases.
Another former Tiger, Joseph Macaluso (Class of 2019), is competing in his first professional season with the High Desert Yardbirds from Adelanto, Calif. The Yardbirds, a member of the Pecos League, are in first place in the Pacific Division with a 36-16 record. Macaluso is hitting .229 with five home runs and 13 RBIs. As a pitcher, he is 0-2 in 12 appearances. The Yardbirds will be competing in the Pecos League playoffs next week.
