Rock Hill, S.C. (April 19, 2022) - The
Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) unveiled the Inaugural 2022 Men’s Volleyball All-Conference Teams, featuring 14 first and second-team representatives from the league’s top players.
The all-conference team was voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors and will be recognized at the Inaugural 2022 Men’s Volleyball Championship Tournament. Rookies monopolized the list with 12 of the 14 honorees in their first seasons.

Marcus Frank earned first-team all-conference honors and have been named Libero of the Year and Setter of the Year, respectively.
Benedict’s Head Coach
Gwendolyn Rouse was selected as the inaugural SIAC Coach of the Year in her first season leading the men’s team.
Delancy, a sophomore outside hitter, led the Tigers and the league in kills per set (3.24), points per set (3.89), and attacks per set (7.04). He is ranked nationally in all three categories. The Bahamas native also ranked second in hitting percentage (.269) and fifth in aces per set (.345/set) for the league. Delancy had a season-high 23 kills against Central State. He recorded 15 solo blocks and 12 block assists. He posted 67 digs this season, including season-high 9 digs versus Kentucky State. Benedict teammates Donovan Wilmott and Clint Forbes also earned all-conference accolades for their regular season performance.
Central State led with five all-conference representatives including Victor Scherer who earned Libero of the Year and Marcus Frank who was named Setter of the Year. Scherer, a freshman libero, led the Marauders in digs and ranked second in the nation with 2.82 digs per set. The Porto Alegre, Brazil native recorded a season-high 17 digs in February against Campbellsville.
Franck, a freshman setter, led the Marauders and was nationally ranked in assists (7.19/set) and aces (.449/set). His season-high in assists of 44 came in a 3-1 win over Benedict on April 2. The Congonhas, Brazil native led CSU with 37 service aces and has also been active on the attack totaling 80 kills and a .259 hitting percentage. At 6'5, Franck has recorded 27 total blocks along with 102 digs.
CSU's Cameron Lee, D’Aaron McCraney, and Antonio Barazza were also named to this year's all-conference teams.
Freshmen Evens Edouard, Joelvi Jimenez, and Kaelen Ingram represented Edward Waters in this year's all-conference awards. Two representatives of Fort Valley State, Oshane Farquharson and Justin Yates earned second team all-conference honors. Kentucky State freshman outside hitter Jordan Howard was also featured on the all-conference team.
Rouse has led Benedict’s women’s volleyball for 35 years and has recently taken the lead over the men’s program as well. In her first year with the men’s program, she led them to a 4-6 conference record and a 6-13 overall record.
In its inaugural season, the Elite 14 award recognized the student-athlete who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the SIAC championship level in his or her sport while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. Clint Forbes of Benedict was the first recipient of this award in his respective sport.
